Getting Involved

There are a number ways you can become involved in the exciting work at Long Pond.

Become a Member - A great way to start. You'll receive the Ironworkings newsletter to keep you informed. We meet on the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Country Store on Route 511 (Greenwood Lake Tpk.) in West Milford, NJ, just west of Monksville Reservoir.

Several committees work to keep the stabilization, restoration and interpretation of this unique historical site ongoing. Working with a committee is an opportunity to really make a difference.

Committees:
Fund-Raising - Eileen Stemely
Grants - Kerry O'Brien
Maintenance/Historic Structures Survey - Dave Farm
Membership - Hans Niederstrasser
Museum and Education - Beth Timsak
Public Relations/Newsletter - Susan Deeks
Website - Paul Tarlowe

In addition, FOLPI operates the Long Pond Ironworks Museum. Presently we are seeking volunteers to help staff the facility. We also give monthly and special tours of the Historic District as well as educational-outreach programs for schools, Scouts, clubs and other organizations. Contact us for program information.
