Tour Map

This virtual tour of the Long Pond Ironworks Historic District begins in the heart of old Hewitt, the original ironworks village. The Company Store (upper right corner of main intersection, near the center of the map) was both the physical and economic center of the Ironworks. Most early residences were to the south (left), and the furnace area to the north (right side of the map). Click on a map feature to view its information, or begin the tour as we have laid it out. (The map itself represents the village over time and is not strictly accurate to a specific year.)
